MALTA THROUGH THE AGES
expressed through ART, POETRY & PROSE
Malta Through the Ages, an Exhibition of Art,
Poetry & Prose was held throughout October
2005 at the Valletta Waterfront Vault XV,
organised by the artist Francis Xavier Aloisio,
and writer Erika Brincat, with the kind
cooperation of Natasa Pantovic.
Several visitors gathered to
enjoy the exhibition of Francis’s vibrant and
accurately detailed collection of Temple Art, as
well as Windows into the 7,000 year History of
Malta; and Erika’s complementary poetry about
the Maltese Goddess capturing the essence of
varied Maltese and Gozitan Temple Sites, as well
as J.S. Abela's prose, and Grazziella
Buttigieg's wonderful Maltese poetry.
The guests were entertained
with a series of poetry recitals by Natasa
Pantovic, Erika Brincat, Marilyn Hodgson,
Marieclaire Camilleri and Maria Grasso, as well
as Lino Bugeja, the head of the Ramblers’
Association, songs on guitar by Francis himself,
and a variety of traditional Maltese food.
The
Closing Celebration marked the launch of a colourful
collection of 13 postcards depicting Our
Heritage through Art and Poetry, by Francis and
Erika respectively. Due to popular demand this
special edition of postcards will be reprinted
in larger gloss format and can be ordered by
contacting Francis on
afx@mail.global.net.mt.
They make a beautiful and original gift for
lovers of Malta’s art and culture, and the
intention is to distribute them to the wider
public and tourists alike through a number of
leading hotels, as well as the tourist shops
linked with the temple areas.
These are 3
from a set of 13 (Colours

Hagar Qim
We
worship you
Oh
Holy Rocks
Of
Hagar Qim
both
circular and lean.
You
stand supreme,
O
Hagar Qim.
For
you are but
Consciousness of the Ages
Trapped in Time & Spaces
resonating stones storing
Knowledge of the Sages
Allowing us to Re-align
With
your Goddess’s
curves so fine
The
Great Mean spiraling
along
your Galactic Spine
and
Creation’s true Design.
We
worship you
Oh
Holy Rocks
Of
Hagar Qim
Both
circular and lean.
You
stand supreme,
O
Hagar Qim!

Dream Chambers
Take
a walk inside
the womb of the Goddess
But
tread with grace
and gentle respect
As
you step into her cervix
Which
leads you along the path,
Looking for the Child
in
the Sacred Spiral of Life.
Chanting in the Chambers
Praying to the Holy of Holies
As
the echoes of higher vibrations
spiral into the skies
And
fall into the depths
of
her worshippers’ rocks,
carrying and storing
the Sound of
Silence
in
waves of stone.
Red
ochre blood splashed across
her Spiralling Design
Sealing the dreamers
in their Dream
Chambers
Protecting the living and the dead
Bringing in her Power
That
exists throughout All-Time!
The
Oracle will tell you stories
of
the future, the present, and
the
past…can
you hear them
echo
in your mind?

Ggantija
The
Goddess Great
A
Giantess of Earthly Fate
And
abundant weight
Before our eyes
Has
taken solid shape
Resisting many an age
Alive
with re-memberance
Of
the Days
When
women
Imbued with power
Followed Her Sacred Ways
Building walls of love not hate
Priestesses opening up
Their
sacred passageways
To
merge with male DNAs
To
bring in force of energies
we
are reclaiming nowadays
Two
Goddesses great
In twin form state
Joined forever
Never
to separate
Reflections of
the
Xaghra Circle ladies,
Mnajdra’s aerial perspective
and
your main gates
O
Ggantija
You
are an eternal memory
of
The Goddess
So
alive & great!
